Aid for Widows and Orphans
In the developed countries, widows and orphans are taken care of by the
welfare system. In China, it is a different picture. The needs of widows and orphans in
remote areas and villages are mostly neglected. Widows and orphans in the churches of
these areas are also suffering. Churches want to help them but because of their financial
limitations, they have no means. Many of these widows and orphans are living far under the
poverty line.
The Widows & Orphans’ Fund of the Fountainhead Association (FHA) will assist the churches in
providing financial support to needy widows and orphans in the church. This follows the biblical
teaching that we should look after the widows and orphans in their distress(James 1.27)
The Fund will provide each household with assistance ranging from HK$100 to HK$300 per month, depending on its financial situation.
The year 2005 budget for the Fund is HK$ 99,000.
