Scholarships for students in poverty
How do your children grow? Where do they receive their education? To children in the remote mountainous region of China, education is a very distant dream. Funjiang’s father is senile and her blind mother has to take care of the whole family. Funjiang, 14, only finished grade 3 and her sister never has had a chance to go to school.

Cuangan is a 21-year-old medical school student. His father was made redundant some years ago and is now under treatment for cancer. His mother was crippled in a traffic accident and has been unable to work since. The whole family lives on a small pension. If there is no help for him, there will be one doctor less in this country. Being able to enter university is a big social advancement for the poor children in China. Who can help them to become society’s bulwarks

One of Fountainhead Association’s targets of service is the poor people in the remote regions, where the government can only provide one school building and one teacher. It is up to the school management to collect fees to cover expenses on furniture, classroom facilities, and books etc. Many parents have to stop sending their children to school. A recent survey shows that in the poor villages of Sichaun, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui etc., 28% of children are unable to finish primary school and 53% junior high school.

Fountainhead has now sponsored the schooling of over 1,800 students of different ethnic backgrounds. Two Christian workers are employed to visit the students and follow-up on the progress of their studies.

Are you willing to partner with us to serve them?
